Oseun-Olu CDA, Idiroko Marks End-of-the-Year Party  ...sends message to parents to train their children to become responsible adults

Nigeria - The Oseun-Olu Community Development Association, CDA, in Idiroko border town of Ogun State on Tuesday, 26th December, 2023 marked it’s end of year party with a call on parents to train their children to become a responsible adults.

At the event, with large turn out of indegenes and dignitaries, which was held at the CDA hall, a lecture with the topic, "The Role of Parents Towards The Growth And Modeling of Children Into Responsible Adults", was delivered by Comrade Ajao Y. Olusegun. 

The lecturer, emphasised that, parents must teach their children acceptable societal values customs and principles in order to uphold socoetal heritage of Proverb 22:6, "Train up a child in the way he should go amd when he is old, he will not depart from it". 

Comrade Olusegun, stated that parents are to raised well mannered children who would later become good adults. "A child not properly trained will surely sold a house that is properly built by his/her parents. Your children are your tomorrow, what type of children are you rearing, what kind of parent are you? Parents should preach and encourage children on hard works, honesty and ability to appreciate other people problem", he said. 

According to the lecturer, the problems in our society today have ots root in individual family setting, "parents are the super-structure in family setting and parents exit to build children that will promote their names and be blessing to them. The future of every child depends to a large extent on what parents have done or refused to do in the way they build their children to become responsible citizens", he emphasized. 

The event, used to map out strategies towards the development of the community in the coming year, also provided a veritable opportunity for the people to merry and celebrate  the Yuletide.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the CDA, Hon. Ahisu Agidi Solomon, appreciated the executive of the CDA and the residents for their cooperation. He appealed to all residents of the community to let love and unity, existing in the community continues. 

He specifically commended the community Baale, Chief Olu Babalola for his support for the CDA. "You shoulder the problem of CDC as a whole, your intergrity and loyalty for Oseun-Olu will not diminished. King will beg for your presence, great men will pray to serve you", he stated. 

The Baale of the community, Chief Olu Babalola, an Assistant Comptroller of Customs, who was the chief host, commended the people of the CDA, for their self-help projects they were doing. "I hope other CDAs will emulate your activities", he said. 

Also speaking, the Chairman of the event, Chief (Hon.) Joel Bankole, the Agbaakin of Idiroko, while commending the activities of the CDA, EXCO and residents urged them not to relent in the self-funded community projects they are doing. 

Agbaakin promised to continue partnering with the CDA, which he described as best CDA around and prayed for peace in the community, Idiroko, Ipokia local government, Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole. 

The climax of the event was presentation of award to Baale of the Community and Agbaakin.

Dignitaries at the occasion include: Chief Rafiu Adeogun (Akogun of Idosemo kingdom); Chief Augustine Oke (Apashe of Idosemo kingdom); Adeogun Femi (customs officer); Chief Ajiroba of Ikolaje Idiroko; Prince Olagorioye One; Chief Ojubanire Shina (Ikolaje Idiroko Area CDC chairman); Adedeji Ademuyiwa (Crime Editor ProwlingEagles), Mrs Aminat Adegbite, Mapara Oseun-olu Okoro Area CDC chairman, Pastors and Immams, CDA chairmen.
