By Abiodun Okuboyejo
Nigeria - The Ogun State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, has charged staffers to put in their best towards ensuring better productivity in the new year.
Hon. Hamzat, who gave the charge at the first working day prayer session at the ministry’s complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, said the success recorded in the year 2023 could be traced to the workers’ cooperation, loyalty, dedication and resourcefulness, adding that the collective and relentless efforts of staffers enabled the ministry to deliver on the ISEYA mantra of Governor Dapo Abiodun-led administration.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi, the Commissioner appreciated the governor for various transformations in the state, especially the Agro-Cargo Airport and other industrial development, saying the ripple effects of industrialisation would pave the way for employment and increase socio-economic activities across the state.
He pointed out that individual opinions that were in tandem with government’s policies and programmes would be entertained and given relevance, charging officers to be creative and be dogged in achieving greater feat, as one cannot keep doing the same thing and expect to achieve different results.
Highlight of the prayer session was recognition and presentation of Commissioner’s Award of Dedication and Dynamism to the Press Officer attached to the Ministry, Mr. Sakirudeen Bashiru, for his dedication and contribution in projecting the Ministry and state in good light.
In his remarks, the awardee, Mr. Bashiru, expressed gratitude to God for the privilege to witness the remarkable day, promising not to rest on his oars and conscientiously harness all potential, to further project government activities.
