Nigeria - A group of APC Youths in Ogun State under the aegis of Progressive Youths Network (PYN) has urged the general public to disregard the insinuations and fake stories trending in the social media to the effect that both Gov. Dapo Abiodun and Ogun West Senator, Aremo Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi are at dagger drawn following disagreements over ministerial nomination into the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
The State Coordinator of the Group, Comrade Hezekiah Oyero who made this clarification on Monday, 14th August, 2023 in a statement released to the press also stated that Ogun State APC is united, strong and indestructible under the leadership of the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun and it would be absurd for anyone to weaponize the recently concluded Ministerial exercise by the President to cause confusion and disaffection amongst the leadership of the Party and its faithfuls in the State.
On whether there is a cold relationship between the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun and the Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Aremo Olamilekan Adeola, the group stated that there is no scintilla of truth in the story trending in the social media. Describing it as a ruse, it further stated that the fake story is the handiwork of those who do not wish the Party well in the State, particularly, the opposition and their cohorts whose target and main preoccupation is to disintegrate the Party’s leadership and structure in the State by all means.
"Both the state Party leader, Governor Dapo Abiodun and the Senator representing my SenatorialDistrict, Sen. Olamilekan Adeola are united behind our President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and are working assiduously to ensure the total implementation of the President’s Renewed Hope agenda for all Nigerians in general and the good people of Ogun State in particular. The leadership of our Party in the State led by the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun knows that they are each other’s bond, that they cannot be separated in interest or divided in purpose", the statement read.
The Group finally urged those who are behind the fake stories to desist from causing disaffection amongst the party faithfuls in the State and henceforth consider circulating messages of "true unity and togetherness, stick in a bundle and become unbreakable for we can only be human and united together. Igbega ipinle Ogun, ajose gbogbo wa ni".
