Commonwealth Bids Farewell To Ambassador Isola

The Commonwealth Secretariat has bid farewell to its Chairman, Accreditation Committee of the Commonwealth and a member of the Executive Committee, His Excelllency Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola OFR, as Nigeria High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
At the occasion were, Dr Arjoon Suddhoo - the Commonwealth Deputy Secretary General; Baroness Patricia Scotland KC - Secretary General, Ambassador Titilupe Tu'ivakano of Tonga - Chairman of the Executive Committee and Prof Luis Franceschi - Assistant Secretary General.
The send fort was sequel to President Bola Tinubu’s directive that all career and non-career ambassadors should return to Nigeria from their duty posts before 31 October, 2023.
Ambassador Isola was unanimously elected last year as chair of the Accreditation Committee of the Commonwealth for the 2022/23 financial year during a virtual meeting of the committee comprising four members from the eight largest contributors namely; Australia, India, New Zealand and Nigeria as well as four Regional Representatives comprising Ghana for Africa, Bangladesh for AsiaEurope, Grenada for Caribbean-Canada, and Fiji for Pacific.
ProwlingEagles learnt, the position came as a result that Nigeria provided guidance to the committee on the application processes for the Commonwealth Accredited
Organisations seeking accreditation and reaccreditation, revision of the accreditation guidelines as mandated by Heads of Government at CHOGM in Kigali, and provided a window through which other matters were discussed.
